  • Chemical Weapons found in Iraq

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Buried for at least 10 years though.
When the stars threw down their spears,
and water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Yeah But it still deadly. It also may of been buried by Saddam to hid them from the Weapon Inspecters.

Mustard gas? Maybe the British hid it during WW1.

Found by the Danes, and look like they've been there for 10 years. At least it will be hard for people to say the US planted them.

Canada has loads of mustard gas leftover from WW1, I hope we don't get bombed next.

Don't get your hopes up too quick. We've had reports from soldiers in the field before. And they later were shown directly false or were shown to be ambiguous/unconvincing.

WOW, the discovery of a lifetime! A whole 36 mortar rounds circa the Iran-Iraq war! With those, and some left-over Japense munitons dug up in China we can rule the world!!!!

I do like how it si reported though-if it is true, then BUsh can claim chemical weapons were found..its not like anyone will quibble about all the details that make it a rather uninteresting find.

On another note- anyone know if there are lots of old munitions on the border areas of Iraq and Iran like there are in some other old battlefields? How long those will take to clean up?

I checked other sites and don't see it being reported yet. Maybe only Poly is covering it heavily.

Not exactly what I would consider war worthy either, but it does maybe show that a lot more COULD have been buried after GW I to hide it from inspectors. Some could stay buried for a long time.
