    You think that's the same?
    Strange....

Anyway, anything other than a 162-game season would screw up the personal historic stats. Can't have that.
So their personal stats are more important than simply giving a fight for their country.... Ok.

      Of course.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Anyway baseball seems like a nice sport. Anything involving hitting things with a bat gets an initial glance I think.

Baseball is fun. Not to fast pace, easy to get tickets to a game, they are much more fun to attend than to watch on TV, makes a nice outing for a nice day, gives you a reason to drink and shout profanities...

Baseball just doesn't have a country-v-country tradition. Meanwhile, it has a strong individualistic tradition. At least in the US and Canada. Might be different in other places. Cuba, for instance.

All Cuban young males like baseball.
They even lie to make themselves younger.

Don't sweat it DanS. I'm just messing with you. You're not an exclusivity in this or anything.

I'm not getting worked up over this. I think it's interesting too.

My bad. Matsui wasn't in the Bigs in 2000. Well, they were pennant winners. I'm sure the Japanese can gain some pride in that.

Edit: Interesting fact. 75 million Japanese watched this year's World Series.

The reason the team was disqualfied was because it was bad. The reason it was bad is because, for the most part, the Olympics allow only amatuers, and in the US, the best baseball players (and most mediocre ones) are in Major League Baseball.

For some reason, professional basketball players (aka the Dream Team) were able to play in the 90s. I'm not sure if that is still the case.
