English, French, German, Erse and I can speak a little Arabic, but my reading has gone to pot. Started to learn a Koori language, but gave up. May start again. No habl' Espanol unfortunately, which is very sad. Have forgotten all the Italian I learned. I find starting to learn languages easy, but it's keeping them up that takes effort, and life gets in the way. Used to be able to read Anglo-Saxon, but it was difficult to find anyone in the real world (as opposed to university) who was the slightest bit interested in the subjects of kennings and alliteration in 'The Dream of the Rood' or 'The Wanderer', so I gave it up as a lost cause.
I have a friend who is half French, half British and she is fluent in English, French, Provencal French, Catalan, Italian, Spanish, German and I think the last I heard she was starting to learn Dutch, but it could just be she was choking on a fishbone. She frequently finds herself thinking in more than one language esecially when trying to find equivalent words.
Just kidding, Netherlandish ones.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.
...patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone. Edith Cavell, 1915

My old Maths teacher was an Irish guy who could speak about 7 languages, the problem was his accent in English was so strong it was virtually incomprehensible.
Personally I can get by in France and Spain without reverting to simply speaking English louder. One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

English, Bengali, French, and Spanish. All badly."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

And you didn't include the 5th largest language in the world."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

The only one I'd be able to vote for is English. The other languages I'm best at are Spanish, German, and Norwegian. Languages I'd love to know include Faroese, Gutnish, Basque, Karelian, Hebrew, Ainu, Maori, Cherokee, Navajo, Inuit, Nahuatl, and Guarani.

Spoken in Catalonia, a province of Spain in the Northeast, right on the Mediterranean. It's another romance language."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.
