Death to DRM. Death to Microsoft. Death to AOL. Death to Ubisoft. Death to EA. Death to RIAA. Death to the MPAA.

    Yay, computer freedom.

      whats wrong with materialism?
Nothing. We all miss the late 80's.

will they end up like the terminator of the matirix or is there nothing to fear?
You've been watching too many bad movies.

      Its not so simple
According to the rest of your post, yes it is. If programmers don't program freaky things, computers can't commit freaky acts.

Ehh... I don't see what is the problem with the mankind being destroyed by robots... Seriously...

Yeah but the thing is that these methods are use for very non-freaky things.
To design robots and chess programs and many other examples I dont know.
Its like anything, its a tool, it can get out of hand.

We'll create an ai that stupidly places its cities in sub-optimal places, whores techs with each other, does the trimere cheat, etc.

The Future Of computer horrifing or not?
I can tell you the future of my computer, and it is indeed horrifying. I'm gonna smash it a magnetic sledge hammer until I can't swing it anymore and then drag it behind my pickup until its disolves into nothing more than a streak of silicon, plastic, nuts and bolts on the highway.

That is of course if it doesn't blow up and catch on fire on its own first.

I am not so worried about computers getting smarter as the march of technology continues, but humans getting more and more ignorant.

I doubt THAT will happen. Humans are far less ignorant now than they were 100 years ago. They're no smarter, certainly, but less ignorant

What was that throm that ever 6 month processer speed doubles imagine how fast computers will be in just a few years!

Well lets see 2 gigs proceser speed over lets say 10 years

ummm thats = to 2 to the 20th power 1,048,576 gigs of processer speed
Holy **** thats a fast pc!!

Not that simple. Gordon's Law is just an empirical obversation, and it states that the density of ICs double every 18 months (not 6 months as you stated). This generally translates into an increase of CPU power, but the law is running up against some tough engineering problems now. If they can be solved, you will still be limited by physical laws (the real stuff).

I think that really comes out to a 300 some GHz processor in 10 years...but even that is highly unrealistic.
