This is an excellent question and while Gore would have targeted Afghanistan, he is too narrow minded to understand the complex ME issue. He would have fired a Tomahawk at Iraq kept up the expensive containment of Saddam and the ME would continue on its dangerous ways until yet another attack came to the USA. Appeasers throughout history never understand true dangers to their nation or others and Slick Willy along with Gore are appeasers.

So Boris, Does history show Clinton going after Islamic Terrorists, or doing EXACTLY what the guy in the article said their focus was?

      Facts are a stubborn thing.

Who cares? Gore isn't President. It really isn't possible to know what he would have done.

PS Can we drop the whining about Clinton's inadequacies as President? We all know he responded poorly to AQ attacks but it really isn't productive to keep harping on it now that he's been out of office for quite a while.

This certainly explains Kosovo, Haiti, Bosnia and Somalia...

As you Republicons love pointing out, Clinton didn't get UN approval for those wars. So tell me, which is it? Is Clinton as war-mongering as Bush or is he an appeaser? hmm.. I wonder if the bombing campaign of Iraq in 1998 was appeasement?

god, it's not even hard to tear down the right's arguments any more...

gore would have initiated "tolerance" programs to help us better understand why the terrorists hate us.

and i would have shot him.

hehe no, Gore would have lobbied for warning labels on all maps... "WARNING PARENTAL ADVISORY: Dangerous Explicit Dictator!"

                      Sava,
My old friend, first it is Republicans, not Republicons, thank you.

Secondly, a true risk in war is when you send in ground troops, how many did you send to Bosnia. When it was time for Slick Willy to "Wag the Dog", there was not too much risk to bomb from far away, unless of coarse, you are Chinese embassy.

He decided to bomb a region the size of Wisconsin and call it a great effort, yes, he stopped magnificant tragedies but really with little risk. The ME is 10 fold on Bosnia and the true fact is, he doesn't have the coconuts to face the swelling problem.

Assuming Gore was president and 9/11 occured, certainly we would have invaded Afghanistan..as for Iraq? I am highly doubtfull. The people who pushed the war through would have had very little push in a Gore administration. I assume far more pressure would have been eventually put on the Israel-Palestine problem instead.

I'm not trying to brag about Dem's starting wars, I was just simply pointing out that Defiant was wrong.

And Defiant, when Repukes stop conning America, I'll stop calling them Republicons ...

plus, I think it's good that Bill Clinton didn't commit ground troops in those areas... I figured someone who claims to be a conservative would appreciate a president who doesn't waste billions of taxpayer dollars and American lives in a needless war for profit...

Quite frankly, I don't know why conservatives aren't more mad at Bush than most liberals. I mean this guy is spending more than any other president in history. He's expanded the federal government by 500,000 jobs. He's tanked the economy. He's commited us to a long occupation in Iraq for a pre-emptive war under false pretenses. He's passed a MASSIVE giveaway to pharmaceutical corporations in Medicare reform (BTW, isn't Communism the state support of industry?). He's rolling back environmental laws.

I mean, what is "conservative" about this president. If a so-called "liberal" president were doing things opposite of what a liberal or progressive policy would dictate, I'd be pretty pissed off. In fact, I was pissed off at a lot of things Clinton did.

I just don't get this hero worship you guys have for Bush. It sounds a lot like battered wife syndrome. You love this guy despite the fact he beats the crap out of the supposed ideals you hold.

Since the Dems opposed Gulf I and only shot missles at OBL when he blew things up before, I sincerely doubt that he would have done more than seek a UN resolution, with tough words!

Next, he would have looked at America, like Carter did when he was president, to find out what we were doing wrong to so piss off OBL.

Finally, he would have made overtures to the Taliban, OBL and Saddam to patch up our differences.

Why do some people seem to be connecting the invasion of Iraq as some sort of response to 9/11?
