Would Gore have invaded Iraq?

Countries get pissed off when they are attacked.
Gore would have had to do something.
Foreigners are always looking for a reason to hate us. If we did anything, it'd be the same situation we have now.
But if we're gonna fight, might as well have a good 'ole boy doing it instead of some pansy tree hugger.
And just imagine the political fodder the Arabs would have if we have a Jewish VP.....

Gore would have felt the political need to do something, even knowing full well that it would be ineffective and self-destructive to do so. He might have attacked Afghanistan. But why would he have attacked Iraq? They had nothing to do with 9/11, nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, nothing to do with any current terrorism, no longer had any weapons of mass destruction, and posed no threat to American interests. George Shrub knew all of this. He simply took the opportunity presented by 9/11 (and his abysmal failure against Osama bin Laden) to do what he had already planned to do on behalf of the corporate interests to which he is beholden.

We have no way of knowing anything. It is possible that under a Gore administration, already well-versed in dealing with al-Qaeada, they would have taken reports that AQ was planning on hijacking American airliners more seriously, wouldn't have have quashed the FBI's investigation into the Saudi sources of AQ funding, would have paid more attention to anti-terrorism in general. It is possible that Gore's Administration might have prevented 9/11 altogether. Probably not, but maybe possibly.
There are too many variables to say what would have happened.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Yes, they did. They told Bush that his number one problem in his Administration was going to be AQ. Did the Clinton Administration take it as seriously as they should have? No. Did they take it more seriously than Bush pre-9/11, absolutely. Why do you think Bush is doing everything he can to block the 9/11 commission?
And AQ hadn't been attacking us for 8 years at that point. IIRC, the first time they popped up on our radar was '95-'96. The '93 attack on the WTC was carried out by members of an Egyptian terrorist group that was not yet linked to AQ (as AQ didn't exist yet).Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Gore would definetly have invaded Afghanistan. Undoubtably he would have felt pressure to do more. Would he have invaded Iraq? Quite possibly he would. Or he may have done other things to Arab countries, stopping just short of invasion.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Probably... but not as early as Bush as Gore would have actually exhausted all diplomatic options instead of pretending to.
But I think that's irrelevant because I don't believe 9-11 would have happened if Gore were president, just because he would have made Clinton's anti-terror policy suggestions into reality instead of instituting Operation Ignore. To us, it is the BEAST.

Bull ****, If he felt that way he would have taken the silver platter with Osama's Head on it when it was offered to him, instead of refusing it multiple times.
He would have responded to WTC bombing 1, Khobar Towers,The African Embassy bombings, the Cole, instead the Clinton administration was focused on domestic terrorists like the Branch Dividians, and a mother and her child at ruby ridge.
I very much doubt that Clinton said a damned thing about Osama Bin Laden before september 11th.
Why is Bush blocking the 9-11 report? Because hes got the kid gloves on with the Saudis and doesn't want to hurt their feelings. I think we all know what is in the report.

Clinton proposed massive improvements to fight a "War on Terror" in 1999. He gained lots of Republican support. It's funny how ignorant revisionists like to bash Clinton and even blame him for 9-11.
In a speech January 22 to the National Academy of Sciences, President Clinton announced a $10 billion plan to strengthen the repressive powers of the federal government, in the name of waging war against "terrorism." Combined with $6.6 billion in new spending on anti-missile systems and a $110 billion increase in the Pentagon budget over the next six years, the Clinton administration will launch the biggest military-police buildup since the heyday of Ronald Reagan.
BTW, the above link is from a left-wing site ATTACKING Clinton for such a proposal.
Here is a CNN story about the same proposals.
Do internet searches on "Richard Clarke terrorism report"
Bush liked certain Clinton people so much, he kept them on after he took power.
And the so-called "refusal" to accept OBL is complete bull****. I wish people would stop watching Fox news.To us, it is the BEAST.

Yes, and someone "proposed" an attack on Bin Laden after the cole.
Actions and words are different. Clinton said he was ready to have an elite ninja team run in and scare Bin Laden, never quite happened though. The response to the cole was likewise shot down.
Now question for you: Did the Sudanese government offer Bin Laden to US or not?
