    So A Straight Guy Walks Into a Gay Bar...

    Well, I went to a gay bar tonight, for the first time in my life. I was downtown on 6th St. with a (gay) friend, and he asked if I was comfortable with going to a gay bar for a while. I said sure, that's cool, so we went.

    It was an interesting experience - just thought I'd share. Wasn't really uncomfortable, though. My friend told the bartender this was my first time in a gay bar, and I got a free drink and a "bless your heart" out of it, and another bartender said I was cute.

    So, for straight people, are you uncomfortable going to gay bars? And for gay people, are you uncomfortable in straight bars?

      not at all. there's this bar called 'Rome' over on lark street in downtown albany. i went there a few times with my Ex, amanda. it was a blast. i'd sit back and watch her make out with the lesbians (alas, none of them were up for a 'MP game' as it were), and i usually was hit on by random gay guys, and was bought drinks, cutting my bar tab in half, sometimes more. and i had an absolutely gorgeous GF to go home with at the end of the night.

        My SO and I went into one once just to see what it's like once. Interesting, though she got hit a lot more than I did, and she is the one who found the concept of "doing it" with a MOTSS repulsive. We left somewhat quickly to prevent her temper flaring up, beating up people in the process.

            actually, david probably is trying to tell a joke. he's really funny when hopped up on painkillers, but any other time... **grin** you remember that time at the hula hut, mister floyd?

              I went to a transvestite bar once. But that probably doesn't count - there were no other people there really.
              I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                Being somewhat asexual/bisexual, I am okay around both heterosexual camps and homosexual camps.

                I hate bars though, for I hate what alcohol does to people.

                      i've never been into a bar before. mostly 'cause i don't know any bar which i'd like to become a regular. you know, like cheers.

                        I know you can get homosexual camps but can you get heterosexual camps?
