The summer of '89 I drove from Phili to NYC. I left the interstate one turn off too early and ended up in "Omega Man", NJ. Actually, I have no idea what the "suburb" was called, but it consisted mostly of burned out buildings, most of which still seemed to have people living in them.

I didn't stop to explore. Maybe Dubbya should summer there ? (I know Imran is from eastern NJ, maybe he knows what its called.)

Definitely honorable mention. We were driving from Colorado to California for a wedding and decided to stop in Reno and get a hotel, as neither of us could safely go on. After about an hour of trying to get around and find a hotel that wasn't a complete pain in the ass, we drove out of there to Truckee California. By comparison Truckee was paradise.

Dragör, Denmark. Not a real city but a neighborhood in Copenhagen. We stopped at a gas station to get a hot dog. Then, for some reason, the manager started to follow us around in our car......

Why'd you let him into your car in the first place?

                  Hoboken? Orange?

I don't know much about around NYC or Philly. I tended to avoid those parts of Jersey. The rest of it was SOOOO much better .

What cities/towns have you spent time in that you would recommend only to people you really dislike ?

                    Sønderborg, Denmark...

...but not until I move out of here of course
This space is empty... or is it?

I have been all over Jersey and have yet to see anything that compares in sheer desolation to Philadelphia.

(Except for maybe Camden...but I blame Philly for that too)

                            Gary, Indiana.

and Agrabah. not that i've ever been there, but it's a fun city name to say, and it seems to work well with the start of the line...

I liked Bangkok. You have to understand it is a third world country but once that sinks in things aren't so bad. The international hotels are great and there are plenty of things to see. The royal palace, the floating market, the old main city market place, Wat after wat after wat after wat...

It's also interesting to go to the tourist district just to look around. Sure you will be mobbed by prostitutes but there are lots of bargins to be had in fack western designer goods & computer software plus the food is world class if you go to the right places.
