I don't believe much of what realpolitic says. It's like all the reports of police attacking union members for the last 150 years. You only hear one side of the story from the union members and never hear about who instigated the violence.

The FOX story stated that the protesters, read, anarchists according to a live report I saw on TV, did not have a permit. They attacked the police and tried to tear down fences. This has been an anarchist or radical tactic since the days of the Weathermen.

I don't believe much of what realpolitic posted either.

On the other hand, FoxNews isn't exactly non-biased.

The only way to get an accurate picture is to look at both sides.

      ACK!

Hah. You will never get that from AP or CBS or the like. The one reporter who identified the rioting demonstrators as anarchists caught himself immediately after saying this. He knew he had said something that he shouldn't. Most of the networks never give you any insight at all as to who the violent protesters are, how the prepare for these confrontations, or what their political agenda really is by visiting their web sites. They are simply labelled protesters.

If there is violence, they show only the violence from the police and not what caused the police to react.

As I mentioned in another thread, Christian Amanpour broadcast the London protests live. As she stepped aside, the camera panned over the crowd. There were literally hundreds of Cuban flags waving. She never said a thing about the politics of the protesters, who they were or their obvious affliation with the communist party. One would think that these protesters were common English folk who simply did not like Bush. But the truth was quite different. You will never get the real story from any of the major networks, though. Why?

They are all anti-Bush themselves. That is why.

Jounalist do not believe in free speech. They believed in monopolized speech with special powers and privilages for themselves, not shared with the public. They do not want unfiltered (by them) eyewitness accounts to be available to public which would then give the lie to their 'reporting'.

Miami Mayor Manny Diaz called the police actions last week a model for homeland security.
                Don't they mean Fatherland Security?
