  • Bombay Palace, a semi-s_****y Indian place on K Street has a good buffet for $12 on weekends. My roomates and I usually hit it up for brunch on Sundays, thus removing the need to eat for the next day and a half....

          • 8 inches. Joy.

They are really gonna need me at work, as a Michigander I bet I'm the only one who is qualified to drive in it all. DC is gonna shut down, bunch a whimps here.

I'm ready though. My car is all decked out for the holidays, my tree is up, and Christmas lights are up (on the house, car and tree). Bring on the snow!

                  Welcome to Washington AH.

I had to work from home today, so I will not be able to make it to lunch.

                  • I went to the tabbard inn night before last, Chief something the night before.
Tabard Inn's supposed to be good, although every time I've gone, they've been super busy and the wait was too long for us.

Don't know what Chief... is. Doesn't ring a bell.

If you're looking to bust up your expense account with dinner, I have suggestions of where you can do a lot of damage.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

This is really a Southern town, with Southern attitudes about snow and ice. Normally, we don't get much snow. Maybe one big snowfall every three or four years.

It's right across the road from Tabbard's, in a courtyard.

The Tabbard's meal was superb. Very memorable.
