I just noticed that you're coming in on the 29th. The airports should be quite busy (if you don't have special arrangements), but the city itself will be a ghost town that weekend because of Thanksgiving holiday on the 27th. It will be good to settle in before the fit starts hitting the shan.

Have you been to DC and the States before?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

              Smithsonian looks good too.

For a Polymeet, Saturday 6 December is the best bet for me but I can't promise anything at this stage.

I'll be back in town by the 6th, Horsie. I foresee a slightly overpriced Georgetown dinner in your future.
