I guess, what my point is, The city, with his advantages and disadvantages, is still better. I like the city. Hell, don't say that the entire city is crap, just because your neighbourhood is ****. We had a couple of people murdered here, but those people, they were on their way there, if you know what I mean.

Well next time I am near Northampton we will have to meet up for a quick drink or something (I have friends in London and Oxford so I do go past that way quite regularly)

You doofus, nothing Albert Speer has ever said could even possibly qualify him as a redneck.

Seriously though, I think a city should have plenty of trees...I think without them a city looks completely and utterly soulless.

Well I will probably be passing that way in December, perhaps even this month (trying to sort out a visit to Oxford). I've never been to Northampton and it seems quite a handy place to stop...

Many smaller ones do. Some of the smaller ones can get away with it but the larger ones have actually torn up a street here or there to put in pedesterian walks only and added trees.

I grew up in the country. Me and my friends didnt need playgrounds because we had acres and acres of woods to play in.

I love living in the city. But then maybe that is because I live in a nice city that people enjoy living in.(Pittsburgh) I might hate living in the city too if I lived in Philadelphia.

Yeah...my 1 bedroom apt. "mansion"... I've been around plenty of not so nice places in Philly and Chicago and Indy and elsewhere. It ain't too hard to stay away from the trouble spots, and carry yourself when you gotta go in.

So if I ever visit the US, should I avoid Philadelphia?
