The procedures for an impeachment vote in the Senate are entirely different, as they are acting as a trial jury, not as legislators. There are totally separate rules for handling impeachments.

Prissy Ownes did was send a law suit back to be retried, finding that it had been initiated in the wrong district. She did this on the basis of a law that hadn't been in existence at the time of the law suit.

What is wrong with this one? If a law is passed that changes things from the time of suit and the time of appeal, you use that new law.

Oh, in case you missed it, Kennedy called the "vetoed" appointees "Neanderthals."

It is good to know true opinion of Christians by the radical left. And, I thought Kennedy came from a Catholic family!

Just like how some of Trent Lott's comments in the past few years reveal the true racism on the right, correct?

(No, it's not correct, of course, but it's a similar generalization).

Rev, the president condemned Lott's remarks and dumped him. This is the reason the right cannot be painted with Lott's racism.

However, the left wholly endorses Kennedy's bigotry.

Oh? And what political views were they that he was labelling Neanderthal? It was my understanding that the candidate judges all stated that they held strong religious views and from this one could draw the conclusion that they opposed abortion. If there was something else, please let us know.

But at to political views, what could such well educated and highly endorsed women believe in politically that was so controversial?

You tell me. It's your claim Kennedy is bashing their religious beliefs. Prove it by citing the entire passage in context.

Republicans call Dems names all the time, and vice-versa. I remember a Republican Congressman calling Bill Clinton a "scumbag" from the floor of the House. Was that an attack on Clinton's religion, or something else?

These nominees were opposed for their extreme political views, not their religious ones. If they are injecting their religious beliefs into public policy, then such policies are fair game for criticism.

I listened to the debate. The Repubs said the real reason the nominees were rejected was abortion. Judicial nominees, however, never state what they would do in the future on specific cases. However, they will state their views on religious matters such as abortion. Regardless of these views, however, good judges will decide cases based upon precedent.

When Kennedy called these people Neanderthal's it was because of their stated religious views IMO. Those who contend otherwise should identify just what political views these women had that were so archaic.

There you have it. No quotes, just your "opinion." Ned, given the number of times I've seen you give inaccurate retellings based on what you've heard and taking things out of context, you can see why I won't take your word for it.

As you bleated in the other thread... A link, a link is all I ask.

Gee, could it be everything the Dems have said was objectionable about them and their past actions? Being a bigot entails deriding people for who they are and what group they belong to. That's not the same as criticizing people for their past actions and thinking they'd make terrible judges, which is why they have confirmation hearings in the first place. All you're doing is cheapening the word bigot by misapplying it.

Boris, I gave you a detailed explanation of why I said what I said. You, in contrast, simply referred to what the Democrats have been saying which is nothing but things like "out of the mainstream," "Neanderthal," and "turkey." While accusing me of unsupported statements, you continue to flaunt your own hypocrisy.
