Well, I currently live in France, and it is a much more pleasant experience than living in Germany (where I lived before).
It is completely ridiculous to suggest that France is in decline. Things just keep getting better and better here. I am going off now to catch the TGV, which is a hell of a lot nicer and faster than anything in the UK.....

we now have -count them-40 miles of high speed track.
Yes thats right 40 miles.
I now expect a grovelling apology for disparging our fine rail network.Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

In relative terms, France is in something close to terminal decline. France's relative influence is lessening rather quickly in Europe and worldwide.
In absolute terms, there will likely always be French people, and they will live reasonably well.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I know your not talking about an being obsessed about another country. You should look at your threads.Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief.
