You take those rotten gardening tools away from this thread!
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I find myself pathetically misty eyed today. As most of you know, I was in the US Navy for 5 years. I went to my former ship's Website and discovered that it was to be decommissioned on the 12th of December.
Suprisingly enough, I almost cried. I never fully realized how much that ship affected my life, even almost 10 years later.
I really wish I had found out sooner, and I would have scraped the money together to be there for the decommissioning ceremony. Witch is being addressed by the first Captain I ever had.
no ack here.
That's funny- well not really
I felt sad when I learned my ship was sunk and is on the bottome of the Atlantic ocean
The other ship I was on before the Guam was the USS Enterprise. I was there during the refueling and complex overhaul. That was quite an experience. Decomissioning the ship would be too much work, so they decided to keep the ship going for another 15 to 20 years even with an obsolete engineering plant design.
though I do commend the nuclear physics guys on designing a better core. The original core in 1962 only lasted like 5 years. So even though these cores are the same size, the boron and uranium is distributed more efficiently and these core may get 20 years out of them- we have 8 reactors.
This ship was a pain in the ass when it came to getting reliable hot water. Cold showers suck!!!!!
oh, that isn't one of our better pictures . That was a Vietnam war era picture. Not as bad as the USS Forrestal fire, but still pretty bad.
A better picture of my first ship. This is a 60's- actually it is probably 70's (as it has Tomcats on deack)- era picture. the Island (superstructure) is much bigger now. It has underwent extensive modifications.
