  • Even the laziest person has a passion

Yup. I beleive that even the laziest person has a passion.

Take the laziest person in the world, find his passion and give him a 60 hour a week job at it and he wont complain, hell, he'll even be happy to do it.

    Take me for example.

I love cars, I dream of cars, think day and night about cars. To some of you this might sound stupid but for me it's a passion and I cant help it.

About 12 years ago I concentrated my studies in finance, then started working in a bank in investments, then changed to loans because I never liked investments (Well I like but only for my own portfolio) Then I switched job to Enterprise solution because I hated loans....Samething happenned, I didn't like it....so I decided to make a drastic move a year ago and start my own company. It didn't go as planned right away so I had to find another job. I thought why not try it as car salesman. So I did and I love it!! And my business is really starting to pick up so I work about 60-70 hours a week (I post here between customers and when I have nothing to do) and I really dont mind because I am surrounded by cars and troubleshooting all day! I never thought I would work 70 hours a week, but of course, that was when I was working in banks.

So that is why I say that the laziest man has a passion and any man that works on his passion can do 60+ hours and be happy about it.

What is your passion, and are you working on it?

Lazy people are passionate about naps.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

My passion is skiing. Firstly for the skiing. But then for the lifestyle and the people you meet in ski towns.

              I voted Engineering/Architecture

While I am an engineer it got me thinking about how much I do like Architecture. I go places just to see buildings, I have 3 "home design" programs I like to play with, and I can remember doing this since I was about 12. Sometimes, for fun, I even run static problems to see if the house I draw up would actually stand... Maybe I should go into Architecture?

My Passions? Town planning, Microbiology, Cosmology.

I don't do any of those. I am a chemistry student. Which is also fun. But I'd rather do any of those. sadly, there aren't many jobs at those.

Town Planner? - There are a lot of those jobs, at least in the states. I have a friend who is one.

Microbiology? - Biotech is going to boom even more than it is now, and they are always looking for good microbiologists, or even biochemists!

Cosmology? - I hear China is hiring

Your first two are duable, combining biology on top of your chemistry degree, or even switching over to microbiology WILL give you a strong career future...

My passion is Social Studies. Specifically, I love reading and studing about economic geography, urban geography and cultural geography.

I had two majors in college: Economics and Geography. I never stopped enjoying the study of these subjects.
                      Haven't been here for ages....

Hehehe. I am not like that.

And my business is High performance products distribution and car tunning.
I wholesale (to other speeshops), sell and install (to private customers) turbos and superchargers, suspension, bodykits, engine components and more for street and racing purposes.
Oh, and no I dont like fast and furious...I even hate it. It has nothing to do with racing...in my point of view. Oh, and I hate civics too...but you know, they take a large place in the market so I have no choice but to work with them. I mostly like to work with real race car drivers cuz they know what they want and what they are talking about.
My company is called Performance International and a web site will be up in January or Febuary.

                            Kewl

Once I get my CC paid off I am going to get some work done on my truck... Now I know who to ask.

I have a friend who is big into cars, his familly has a five car garage that they have turned into a workshop. They have a pit thing, to work under the cars, 2 hydrolic lifts, and crane overhead to lift in and out engines. As you can tell I know nothing about cars. He is getting some sort certification to be mechanic right now, and I posed an idea for a company to him. Thought I would share.

I, and many others like me, could really use a "personal" mechanic. Someone who will come and take your car (when it's busted) and take it to have fixed (either by the company mechanic or another shop). Charge an hourly rate for "treating" the car, and if you work on it an hourly rate for that. Why this?

Last time my car broke down I spent 6 hours sitting with the car to get it to the dealership (it wouldn't run), then they charged me up the wazoo (of course) and then "found" other things wrong. I took it to another shop, since I didn't want to pay their outragous hourly costs, and that took more time. When I got the car back it still ran funny (rough), and I had no idea why. I took it to another shop, who told me I needed new shocks, so I got those... It still ran weird. I then took it to another shop (some Russian mob shop) and the fixed it right away... Had I been someone who knew about cars I wouldn't of been taken/ripped-off, wouldn't of spent so much time toting the car around, and wouldn't of missed so much work. I'm telling you, I would pay someone to take care of this. Just the driving it around and listening/feeling the cars handling many of you who know about cars can tell what it wrong, how to fix it, and who can get it done the fastest... Might be good, no? Could offer multi-site drop-offs, car washing, on-site oil changes, tire rotations, etc. as well for an added cost... I know it isn't what you are doing, but I just thought I would share.

If passion means interest and curiosity, mine was problem solving. If passion means an urge to do things which cannot be resisted, I dont see it as the basis of a professional life.

BTW, how astrologie and space belong to the same category?
