Unemployment figures actually are getting better but more slowly.

This just puts an axe through the argument the democrats had that Bush was bad for the economy. BS. And like they would do a better job... sheesh... 7.2% is much better than anything under the Clinton years.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Unfortunately, we know this is inaccurate to at least some degree because unemployment stats have long discounted those whose are "no longer actively looking for work" however you quantify that.

Having sown the seeds, I now consign you to the real lefties.

While true, our participation rate is very high as well. This rate includes those who are in prison, or chronically unemployed, etc.

I don't think we exaggerate too much more than other countries.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

That looks rip' roarin' to me. Three negative quarters, three quarters of barely around one percent annualized growth, three quarters in the 2-4 percent annualized range, and 3 quarters above 4 percent annualized.

                    Woohoo, party time.

And how did your growth years look like? Annualized is all nice, but it would be cool to see non-annualized figures, but actual yearly figures...
