Well if you were excited like me that the iTunes for windows has finally come out here's a sore point to scratch for a bit.. Apparently a few big name bands like Metallica, Linkin Park, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are refusing to offer their albums on iTunes. Their reasoning is they don't want anyone downloading individual songs from their albums since the albums are somehow sacred as produced. Of course iTunes allows full album downloads, it would be silly any other way, but the going rate for full album vs. song downloads is about 47% for the albums. so 53% of the songs downloaded are individuals. This, to Metallica et al., is unacceptable.
