If you tune in to URY at http://ury.york.ac.uk/ from 6.30pm GMT (1.30pm EST) you'll be able to hear myself and others discuss the result as it is announced...

Great stuff. Get to hear a real live tory justify the shambles your party is in.

I would however advise strongly against tuning in before that. What the hell are they playing? Does country music have that big a following in york?

University radio generally tends to be quite eclectic because it follows the individual presenters' music tastes far more than any commercial radio station would... so yeah, if you pick the "wrong" programme you can get some bloody obscure stuff...

As far as im concerned, I pray he will win .. another 5 years for Tony ..

but if I was a tory, and I actually know 1 (believe it or not, they have not all died yet), I think id be praying for IDS to go.

My ideal would be that he wins 83 votes, and nobody in the tory party knows if he has secured 50% +1 or not

(as 82.5 is actually half, so half +1 = 83.5)

75 to 90. Not as much of a margin as he deserved.

I just hope that the Tories elect a pragmatist, especially on Euro issues. I don't think I could stand another bout of "The Krauts and Frogs want to take the Queen's head off of our notes and coins".
