someone was registering people to vote on the subway and though I had already registered, I hadn't gotten my registration card yet though it had been some two weeks (it came the next day), so i decided to register again.
the guy told me to write in my name, address, number, and that was about it and he quickly took it and went on to get another person registered. so i asked him what about the other parts especially party affiliation?
"Democrat," he said to which I responded, "No, Republican."
he then crossed out the marking on democrat and then checked Republican. apparently, all the registration cards had Democrat already checked and the registration people do not tell people to check the party affiliation and just snatch away the cards.
is that legal? and is this how the number of registered democrats outnumbers the number of registered republicans?
