  • George Bush and Hu Jin Tao are in Australia if you're looking for them

Quite a remarkable week this one:

George Bush arrived in Canberra about an hour ago - let me know if you want me to pass on any messages

At the same time, the Chinese President Hu Jintao is in Sydney. Maybe we can start world war III

George leaves Canberra tommorrow and then The Chinese President comes down.

This is very significant for Australia - its unlikely we will ever see both the US President and Chinese President here at the same time on bilateral visits in my lifetime.

George says Australians are like Texans

The Chinese leader has been totally overshadowed and his visit was planned long before Dubya decided to "drop in" - oh dear

He probably thought that was a great compliment.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Why are there so many Australians here then?

It genuinely sounds horrible from what all the people I know who've lived/been there say. The horrible climate and really annoying wildlife are enough to put me off.

Hmmm, a lot of Australians go over there a bit like the Vikings used to visit the Uk in times past I imagine. They certainly talk about it in those terms.
