Not knowing anything about this party, but I think it's only fair that when in country, you do like in the country. When it comes to different cultures, I think no one is asking anyone to give up their cultures or religions. But sometimes there are collisions of cultures and religions, and I think it's only fair, that if there is no solution to it, the one there rules.
In other words, practice it, do it what ever it is that you need to do, but don't even try to begin to push the 'native' ones. There is no culture or religion that makes you do that, so there is no excuse. And if there are some things in the local culture/religion, then deal with it, don't ***** about it.In da butt.
