You can never hear enough of that sickening Pat Robertson...
I remember one time I watched the '700 Club' (Iwas bored) and Pat was going off on astrology being the tool of the devil and people who used it would be punished. All I could think of was Nancy Reagan consulting astrologers in the White House and wondering if Ronnie's altzheimers was a punishment from God.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
Pat's big problem (well, one of his big problems, anyway) is a pseudo-Manichean tendency to glorify evil into some sort of sovereign force of manifest and terrible power, as seen in Ouija Boards, Tarot cards and possible signs of the End Times. Those may indeed be "tools of the devil," but gossip, deceit, self-interest and jealousy are far more valuable "tools," worth much more interest to the devil and to us.
And thanks for posting that last message, Strangelove. It's easy to forget that folks like Pat are in fact a highly publicized and successful fringe group. So what they really have is a strawman MTO for atheists to attack.

Dont forget Dungeons and Dragons

I caught a peice of the "700 Club" the other day and Pat R. was talking about the current health of Yasar Arafat.
He was giving a pretty straightforward view of the situation, then he veered off and started talking about how Arafat had always been a sickly little man and he had "hands like a woman".
Which seemed a little strange at the time.

So he said the US deserved 9-11 and called for nuclear terrorism against the State Department. Isn't Gitmo supposed to be for guys like that?
I think that it was Jerry Falwell who said that God allowed the 9-11 attack because the US had "strayed from the path" so to speak. He made the statement on Pat Robertson's TV show a few days after the attack. Needless to say there was quite a ruckus over the statement.
"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!
The exact opposite of what Robertson, et al., wish for seems to happen — witness the hurricanes, which struck the Virginia Beach area instead of Orlando, et. al. — so can we now expect a nuclear device to go off in Virginia Beach?

I just hope God isn't THAT vindictive...
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.
The Weighted Companion Cube is cheating on you, that slut.

Falwell basically blamed everyone who was not a heterosexual, white, conservative, male for 9/11.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
"Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
And who's to say it isn't true?
