I know that it is biased, BUT THIS WAS THE ONLY THING I COULD FIND ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS STORY.
Sorry, but the fact that Paris made him an honorary citizen does not change because it is biased.

#2, by any reasonable measure, the trial against Mumia was a farce. Until he has a fair trial, I will support him.

#3 Can you dig up anything, TMM, that isn't from Maureen Faulkner's webiste full o' lies?

I do not support Mumia, personally. After he fired his two best lawyers and went with some wingnuts who are pushing a conspiracy theory about a mob hit, I figured, if he isn't gonna try and save his life, why should I? But I am glad Paris is sticking it to Philly over this crap.

Mumia should get a fair trial. If the evidence warrents conviction, fine. But given that almost every single witness no says they were forced by the police to lie against Mumia, I don't think a 2nd trial would be as likely to convict.
I dont have all the facts of the case really, but with your first point, shooting someone numerous times with a gun for beating someone up is not justifible under the law. Does not matter who the person is.

For an unsuspecting foreigner, the topic makes no sense whatsoever.

Does that mean that a mumia made honorary citizenships, and then was very careful about putting those in twin packs?

Or are Mumias recieving honorary citizenship, but only when they come in pairs?

They tried to include the changed witness testimony, but after finding them credible in the first trial, Judge Sabo declared everyone who had changed their testimony to be no longer credible.

When Mumia fired Weinglass and the other lawyer, I gave up on him. They were damned competent lawyers and were getting closer and closer to getting him a new trial. But they weren't comfortable with the MOVE cult that surrounds Mumia (and frankly neither am I), and when one of the lawyers wrote a book about the case, Mumia fired them both.

Also partly because of someone who claims to be the gunman who killed Faulkner, which they refused to present . . . because they don't believe it to be credible. Now he's got new layers who are persunig that avenue. If he wants to get himself executed, fine. Don't expect me to protest on his behalf then.

Hey, calm down. It was in no way intended to be a comment against you or the issue at hand. I have no real opinions about the case. It just seems like one of those typical cases when peoples opinions are coloured by their political beliefs, not the case itself.

A editorial is supposed to be subjective. I was just disgusted by it. It was crap, not worth the paper it was printed on.

Let's boycott France and push all the related businesses to Italy then
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Well, the murder argument is that Mumia shot Faulkner while Faulkner was on the ground from the first gun shot. Mumia was also shot in the stomach, but apparently was able to stand over Officer Faulkner and shoot him five more times.

If that is indeed what happened, then Mumia deserves to rot in prison. After wounding Faulkner and saving his brother, he had no need to continue firing.

However, given that several of the witnesses all say they were pressured by the police to falsify their testimony and swear that Mumia did it, and given that the police fabricated a confession (that the attending physican says never happened), I'm hard pressed to find anything the police say as credible.

Basically, there are a bunch of liars on both sides: a violent, crooked, and corrupt police force on one side, and a bunch of whacked out, Black, hippie cultists on the other.

Heh, no. The cult of John Africa called MOVE. Mumia is pretty close to them. Hell, that's how he got on the wrong side of John-law.

Back in '78 the cops invaded a MOVE house and a police officer was killed. For which, IIRC, seven MOVE members were sentenced to prison. Well, Mumia did a little investigative journalism and found out that the police officer was shot in the back . . . with a police calibur weapon.

Stood to reason the cop was shot by another cop. After that, the police were out to get Mumia.

Keep in mind that the police department of Philly was exceptionally corrupt in the 1970s. This was the time of Serpico in NYC and other house cleaning efforts around the country. Recently six police officers in Philly were convicted of falsifying evidence in at least 200 cases, and possible as many as a thousand people were convicted with tainted evidence. I do not know if Mumia was one of those.

Interesting. This Mumia character seems to appeal to a lot of different groups.

Just because its a court record doesn't mean it wasn't a lie. Falsified testimony is still false, even when in court records.

                              FRY Mumia .

It'll be good to have one less cop-killer in the world. Can't happen soon enough, IMO.

Mumia's murdering ass should have been strapped into an electric chair along time ago. Life in prision is to good for him.
