Boris, your avatar is all too appropriate for your sentiments!

Actually, for me it is. More ammunition for the machine gun of whining about the injustice of it all!

By the middle innings, I had retreated upstairs to play some civ, to take my mind off the game, so that I wouldn't be screaming at every out made by the Yanks (I had a lot to say to Mr. Soriano - "Stop ****ing swinging at sliders off the plate!!!!"). I also didn't want to be a sore loser if the Yanks lost, because my girlfriend was sitting there rooting for the Red Sox.
Giambi hit his home runs, but then Ortiz crushed one off of Boomer and I honestly lost hope. Silly me.
My girlfriend was screaming at Grady Little. "Goddamnit Grady! Pull him! Pull him! Of COURSE he's gonna lie to you and tell you he's fine! Pull him! Pull him!"
Double by Matsui.
"Oh, why didn't you pull him?! Get your ass out of that dugout and get him out of there!"
Broken bat blooper by Posada, tie game.
"**** you Grady!"
That's when I came back downstairs and watched the rest of the game with her. I was careful not to celebrate Boone's home run (discreet fist pump, no capering about cackling madly or anything).
Absolutely amazing. You know, maybe Matsui would have hit a 3-run homer off of Embree... but I kinda doubt it. Luckily for me and the other Yankee fans out there, we'll never know.
I don't believe in curses. I'm not supersitious, and mystical crap annoys me. But after the events of the last two days... even I have to admit it's eerie.
Four and a half goddamned hours of my life that I'll never get back.
I knew, I KNEW, as soon as Grady Little left Martinez in the game after Jeter got on base; I knew it right then and there that the Red Sox were going to lose. I knew it like I had been following the Red Sox my whole life, which I sure as hell hadn't. I knew it even when they held it to a tie to force extra innings. I shoulda gone to bed when I had the chance. But I just had to see the collapse with my own eyes.
A couple months ago, when I was on my pediatric ICU rotation, one of my attendings was a Boston native. He would often lament how the Red Sox were going to blow it. I've been seeing him all this week as he came into the radiology reading room; every day, his hair seemed a shade grayer. I didn't see him this morning. I hope he's okay.

Apparently many people called their Red-Sox fan parents to make sure the Sox hadn't killed 'em. Yikes!

I knew Pedro was done and Little was going to leave him in at the end of the 7th. It was fairly obvious in the 7th that the ****ees were figuring Pedro out, he got lucky and had balls hit to where people were in the seventh, but not the eigth.
I'm a Braves fan, I know bad gametime managing when I see it.
ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
Yeah, I knew he was tiring in the 7th, but the whole stark horror of the situation didn't hit me until Jeter. I knew I was watching It Happen right before my eyes. Unfrigginbelievable.
