They do pay for social services through taxes.
And I just got finished saying that I wasn't in favor of forcing them to pay taxes

Border Patrol Stops 'Freedom Riders' Buses
Fri Sep 26, 2:40 PM ET
By CHRIS ROBERTS, Associated Press Writer

EL PASO, Texas - Two buses carrying nearly 100 people making a "Freedom Ride" to bring attention to mistreatment of undocumented immigrants were stopped for nearly four hours Friday at a U.S. Border Patrol station.

The riders were asked to leave the buses and were questioned, said Hilda Delgado, a spokeswoman on the buses. All were later released, and the buses were back on the road to San Antonio by about noon.

Border Patrol officials in El Paso confirmed that two buses were stopped, but said they were still gathering information. A message left at the checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, 75 miles east of El Paso, wasn't immediately returned.

Delgado, who said she is a U.S. citizen from Los Angeles, wouldn't say whether any of the individuals on the buses were in the country illegally. She said they held up Freedom Ride cards to officials who questioned them.

The cards say that the ride is peaceful, that they exercise their right to remain silent, that they don't consent to a search and don't give up any rights. The card also has the name of a lawyer to contact.

"We have been singing solidarity songs on the bus," Delgado said. "We are trying to expose the injustice of current policies toward immigrants."

Delgado said the people on the bus represent 10 million undocumented immigrants who contribute $730 million each year to the U.S. economy.

"They want to reunite with their families and contribute to the economy," she said. "Our immigration laws need a road to citizenship."

The cross-country caravan, backed by organized labor, began Saturday. Nearly 1,000 people were to join the ride, with 18 buses planning stops in communities including Washington and New York.

We should figure out of way of passively preventing cross border infiltration. Perhaps sensors, ala those used along the Ho Chi Minh trail during Vietnam, that could alert border guards to any movement across the border. I don't know. But it clear that the government, regardless of administration, has not been serious about this issue.

I only wonder why this has never been a major campaign issue. The people of California, by overwhelming passing Prop. 187, indicated that they are outraged by the Feds lack of serious effort on the borders.

EARTH TO RAMO COME IN RAMO! We aren't talking about ending immigration we're talking about enforcing the existing laws by punishing the people who ignore the law and come here illegally. Last I heard when you break the law you commit a crime. Why is it facist to ask people be punished when they commit crimes?

If they are fleeing political persecution then all they have to do is file for refugee status. Lord knows we give that away to just about everyone who asks so it's not like it's difficult to get.

No, we're talking about the people who are not refugees and who are simply economic migrants. They can wait in line, fill out forms, and get a green card just like everyone else did. The thing is these people think they are to good to do things the legal way. They think the law doesn't apply to them. They know damn well what they're doing is illegal but they do it any way because they believe they won't be caught and that they will make lots of money by committing their criminal acts.

These criminals are spitting in the face of every person who ever bothered to do things the correct and legal way and what's worse is they're knowingly committing crimes for the soul purpose of personal financial gain.

Total bull**** (except for Cubans of course). Look at our treatment, for instance, of the Haitians after the coup. It's extremely, extremely hard to get asylum status, and you have to put up with a lot of **** in the process (i.e. mandatory detention for extended periods of time).

These criminals are spitting in the face of every person who ever bothered to do things the correct and legal way and what's worse is they're knowingly commiting crimes for the soul purpose of personal financial gain.
That's hyperbolic bull. When Hitler started siezing Jewish property, would you say that those who fled were "knowingly committing crimes for the sole purpose of personal financial gain?"

These people are only trying to escape desperate poverty and seek a better life for themselves and their families - and most of us are too xenophobic to let them in, so they have to resort to illegal means.

                            skipping in line

Do you think it is fair to skip ahead of people in line? This is essentially what illegal immigrants do. There is a well established legal immigration process to enter the US. Thousands of people do it every year. However, there is still a long list of people who are waiting to enter the country legally. Illegal aliens are skipping to the front of the line. Socially and economically, the country can only absorb a certain rate of immigrants. If there were fewer illegal aliens, the quotas for legal aliens could be increased. People should be allowed to move to try and obtain a better life for themselves and their families, but not at the expense of other people who are trying to do the same.

                                What a load of ****...

You have to ask yourself; why Texas? Cause them rangers know how to keep them out... we should all learn from their example.
You want to know what the load of **** is?
You want to keep them greasy beaners out of your white country? It's simple. Imprison those who employ them and confiscate their assets to fund the Border Patrol.

Abolish unemployment, traffic fines and disability insurance, and reinstitute debtor's prisons and bonded servitude for the white ****ups who lose their jobs or get DUI's or speeding tickets or whatever. Make their gringo asses pick lettuce, oranges, and whatever out in the sun in 90-100 degree heat, so all the good gringos get their cheap ag products. Put the women and cripples who can't work in the fields into garment sweatshops so places like Walmart and KMart can claim they "buy American."

Like Earl Butz, Nixon's Secretary of Agriculture said, "they're [Mexicans] "better suited to that work because they're built lower to the ground."

You can't voluntarily fill the labor pool that the wetbacks fill because whitey thinks he's too ****ing precious to do those jobs for less than minimum wage with no labor law or conditions of work protections. So the only alternative to hiring a bunch of illegals is to force white people to take those jobs, or find some other type of third worlder and let them in.

Funny how all the people who rant about "illegals" don't rant one bit about the US citizen "illegals" who hire them. Let's all **** with the leetle brown guys who are trying to work for a living, because they can't rock the boat, and we can hire another one tomorrow to get our laundry done, our cheap clothes made, our lawns mowed and our lettuce picked. Let's not bother with the white people who hire and use them, and create the problem.

But no, that might be your neighbor, or a good card-carrying white voter, so let's roust the wetbacks, as long as we don't roust so many of 'em so bad we can't get cheap work out of 'em.
When all else fails, blame brown people. | Hire a teen, while they still know it all. | Trump-Palin 2016. "You're fired." "I quit."
