is there any sex in this story?
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

There's a conspicous lack of a hot jock, opininated latina and a token black guy. What kind of teen horror story is this?

The first successfully completed tunnel under the Thames is still in use.

Before the new dorms were built at my college, every building was connected either by tunnels or by bridges.

I don't think there were ever any tunnels under UCSB. Though when I first graduated I couldn't find a job so I worked a couple of weeks on the New Ball Park they're building in Downtown San Diego. During that time I saw workers from SDG&E (the local gas and power utility) go down into a giant utility tunnel they have running under Imperial Ave. They let me go down there too just to take a peak and the place was big enough to drive a truck through but much of the tunnel was flooded with salt water from the bay.

there are tunnels that connect burton judson courts with the main quad across the midway.

                    they've been blocked, though.

It was further rumoured that if a student was caught in the tunnels, he or she would be immediately and summarily expelled.
Weird. There was the same rumour about Birmingham university when I was there.

Damn it! Haven't you watched enough Buffy to know what kind of creepy things live in tunnels beneath schools.

I was pretty sure this story would end up in a "so that was my first lesbian experience" type of place, but it didn't.

                          And yes, I'm disappointed.
