        Let me put it this way: America is the most powerful country in the world - economically, millitarily etc etc (using 'etc' to hide huge gaps in my knowledge of international affairs). So what if we are their poodle? At least we are well fed and groomed

                              You followed in killing the Jews and invading your neighbors during WW2. Followed in a course of weak conscript military. Also, I talked to a lawyer who said that often judgements and interpretations in Germany end up taking effect in Austria a few years later. I have rather good reason for respecting this person's knowledge of law and policy in these countries.
