    maybe I should rephrase that.

some crimes like necrophilia should be illegal because it poses health risks.

And improper buriel also poses health risks.

but there is no risk having a frozen body ... as long as it remains frozen

Well some people may not like their loved ones be frozen after death in a freezer. After all grave robbing poses no health risks, but it is still (IMO, properly) a crime.

only because cemetaries are private property. And there are objects in the graves that are private property (jewelry and such)

No, that's not it at all, Diss .

The reason is because no one wants their relatives ****ed with. People don't care that the rings got taken away or that people trespassed, they care that their parent or whatever was dug up.

I agree, Boris... Scary as Hell
Oh come on. What is so 'scary' about it? He may have been a little messed up, but that is just sad, not scary. He hasnt done anyone any harm; i dont understand how what he did can be considered a crime...unless the woman's family want to press charges. Otherwise he has clearly offened no one except for naive, emotionally stunted individuals who cannot understand anything outside the world of equations and quotes from their fave philosophers.

There you have it. One of the reasons why there are some strict codes of what you can and can't do with a body is based on public safety. Suppose there was a power outage, and this woman's corpse began rotting in the Arizona heat? Suppose she was carrying some sort of disease?

Humans have a rather nasty history with pathogens being spread by the careless disposal of dead bodies. It's a public health issue.

what about them? they were already dead. been frozen after death is surely more dignified than being left squashed to death in the middle of the road for days on end until it rains or something and washes away the blood that was sticking them to the tarmac.

sorry if that was a little graphic...i was just trying to point out that far more 'sick' and 'scary' things happen in life anyway, and we treat them as being perfectly acceptable.

We don't know if the cats were already dead. See my earlier point on this. He claimed he wanted his wife "cryogenically" frozen, presumably for the purpose of reviving her at a later time. What if he had frozen live cats to see if it would work? Note how he claims the cats were there for "research." What kind of research? What does that mean?

I'm not accusing him of anything, but I think it's suspicious enough to warrant an investigation into just how his wife and those cats died.

How can you commit a crime against the living? How can you commit a crime against pets? A crime is simply an illegal act.
A crime also implies a victim. There is no victim in a "crime" against the dead.

There's no victim in taking a dump in the street, either, but that doesn't mean there's no crime.

The term "crime" implies nothing. It is a violation of law, nothing more and nothing less.
