I am all for having a higher tax on alcohol

since those who drink in excess do put a higher burden on society than those who don't drink at all

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

            higher taxes doesn't discourage smoking!!

There are more teenage girls smoking today than ever before in history. Even as a percentage of the population the number is much higher.

Well not like this wasn't unexpected. You have people saying it was right to tax the Hell out of tobacco because of how harmful it is. It's only a hop, skip, & jump from there to alcohol.

Who cares about the 'positive' effects? After all tobacco relieves stress . Anyway, the positive effects don't matter. The taxes are obviously because of the 'negative' effects. It ain't hard to go from tobacco to alcohol on the negative effects must be countered BS argument.
