Well, I eat PB&J sandwiches at work a couple of days each week and there is a nursery group in the same building. If they ask for a peanut free zone they can have one - somewhere else!

Seriously, a lot of processed food in the UK which doesn't contain nuts is labelled that it might have been contaminated with traces of nuts because other food made with the same machinery did include nuts. Is banning peanuts gong to be enough? or will they end up banning all food not certified nut free?

I am against this, even if kids die, simply because people like this kid's parents and the peanut-nazi's at the school won't stop until nuts are banned for everyone, everywhere starting with the education system. First litigation crazy USA, then the EU, then the rest of the world.

The issue seems to be that 50 years ago kids died for unexplained reasons and child mortality rates were higher than now. 100 years ago they were a lot higher. Nowadays we have virtually eliminated many of the diseases that used to kill children so these allergies are more noticeable and medical science just loves discovering and naming new conditions, preferably fatal ones.

Modern western society is just too sensitive about the fact that everyone dies sooner or later in one way or another.
