  • The secret too life is comfortable shoes...

My mama always told me you could tell a lot about someone by their shoes. If I think real hard I can almost remember my first pair of shoes... Mama said they were my special shoes, that they'd take me anywhere I wanted to go...

As for your hair things... Different things look better on different people. On me long hair looks bad, which is why I keep it short (and spiky, but not particularly cared for. Just ran my hands through my hair and tussle it up), on other people it looks good. I got short sideburns (halfway down my ears) because my ears stand out a bit, and they make them slightly less noticeable.

As for clothes. I don't dress to impress at uni. I come back from my rowing and grab whatever clothes are clean. I use a lot of sports "stash" (uni sports team apparel, as i get it cheap). I don't do the XXXXXL T-shirt thing (is hard for me anyway as i fill up a XXL T shirt at my height and build).

Nights out you often end wearing a suit here, and then you're best off going for a fitted shirt (with good cuff links) and a tailored suit, with a patterned tie (no comedy, no block colours). And black shoes with a dark suit, and in my opinion there are only three shirt colours for a decent dark grey/black suit (white, grey, blue and variations there on).

Basically you have to play to your physical strengths and attempt to hide the weaknesses. So don't wear tight gear when you got a fat gut, don't wear baggy trousers when you're short, etc. Some people can carry off different clothes than others. I can't carry off bright colours/hawaii shirts etc, but look very good in a suit, tux or even training trousers with a hooded sweater at 6'5" and ~220lbs.
All that sportswear sounds awful. And wearing a suit for a night out is so extremely pretentious it is just a no-go unless you want to show you're a public school twit

        • Well here's Gimp Snr and Jnr modelling what to wear when you're on the same latitude as Hudson Bay, it's pissing down with rain and you're being flayed alive by midges.
