Your guys' perspective is so out of touch with the common man it is literally disturbing.
That's why Linux continues to suck on the desktop

geeslaka: Eh, I should set my default prompt to include the whole path I'm at... that's /usr/portage/app-games, and includes all of the packages of that category that exist in the official Portage ( = Gentoo's package manager) tree... and about xgalaga, well, I'll see if I can be bothered if I happen to emerge and play it some day... and BTW, it's already being/been organised...
Oh. That explains it. As for the modified xgal, my brother rewrote the cannon code so that it no longer stops at five shot and we added numerous prizes, some of which might not have been finished before we lost interest.

Not to linux developers: I don't want to have to go into the command line for help. I want a frickin' LIBRARY, dammit . And not something like mozillas help: "This text will be addded later" in 1.4 spam filtering... WTF??
elijah: Yeah, that level had me stopped for two weeks, but it's nothing compared to 50.
MattH: Is that supposed to say "Note"? The command line is not some dark and scary room where unseen things jab at you with indescribable devices.
skywalker: What specifically makes you think it indecipherable?

I am completely the other way round when using linux. I do everything from the command line. I hate having to use the mouse, nad drag and drop and stuff - what a pain in the arse that is.
(It is probably just that I am not tidy enough - it takes me bloody ages to find the files using the GUI - but since I always know what it is called, I can manipulate it via the command line much more easily.)

I sometimes do excavations in my $HOME because it's such a treasure trove of weird downloaded crap...
