True wisdom has a negative effect on your worldview in the same sense that a lead slug has a negative effect on a lamed horse. It's a painful transition but you're better off without the old worldview in the long run. Sort of a growing pains thing. Of course, there is an infinite amount of wisdom in the universe to be gained, but a life of painful self-improvement might not be as bad as the alternatives.

As to the original question of the thread, for me, the word would be:

                  funny
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Wisdom results in zynic behavior, which results in not caring about anything
Only for those who have given up

Edit: But seriously, I wouldn´t say that wisdom leads neccessarily to cynism at least not in every case

Probably idealism, sheer bloody mindedness, willpower.

Cynicism isn't wisdom. It's an impediment to wisdom, since it causes you to automatically assume that anything you are told is false until it is proven true by ludicrously rigorous testing, and therefore it's almost impossible for a cynic to learn or grow in any way. Wisdom is the realization, acceptance, and ability to deal with and use the truth in a mature fashion, not to grab what little you can and hide with it like a turtle in its shell.
I'm philosophical all of a sudden. A good mug of tea does that to ya, I guess.

Elok: Wisdom is something that isn't defined by saying that something isn't it.
