I predict the Eagles are gonna win big this year. I mean, it's been, what, 40 years? It's about time.

Willie Gault was the fastest man in the NFL, IIRC. Great breakaway speed.
Does the name Gayle Sayers ring a bell? Or does he count?
Also, I think Dan Hampton and Gary Fencik were terrific.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

Willie never lived up to his hype. The others you mention were great.
The Bears showed more tonight than any of their other preseason games... and all I can say is... It's going to be a long year... sigh...Keep on Civin'

Look at a franchise like SF... Montana, Young, Garcia... Rice, Owens... they can find talent...
The Bears got lucky with Walter Payton... but other than Sweetness... name a franchise level player that the Bears have had in the past 2 or 3 decades? Brian Urlacher? He's a Pro-Bowl MLB, probably 2nd best to Ray Lewis, but he's wayyyyy overrated because he's a white boy. You think he'd get half the attention he's getting if he were black? If he were Gildon, Spikes, or Brooks? pfffft... he's the leading NFL Jersey seller because he's white. I love Urlacher and the Bears historically have had tough D, but he's not going to win anything unless you can put points on the board. He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!

Lest we forget... Dan Hampton, perennial All-Pro at both DE and DT despite over a dozen operations.
The Bears just got lucky with Payton
McMahon? WTF are you smoking?
Sure, a gun for an arm and 4.3 speed are nice. But if that's what made a QB, then Jeff George, Dan Pastorini, and Fran Tarkenton would be your all-time best (and would have won something). Namath was barely a 50% passer, Montana was not physically gifted. But they knew how to WIN.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Quincy Carter would make a good RB.
