                    cheers

on a semi-related note. i knew a load of foriegners last year because i had 2 foriegn flatmates, most of them were cool. anyway i'm in the kitchen one day and my flatmate davide (dave) walks in

                    me: alright dave
dave: hey, [cockney] you wanna come to town with me and some others
me: yeah ok, if you got two quid for the bus
dave: no it's ok, nuria's drving
me: you ****ing what! (thinking holy jesus -nuria )
                    dave: eh?
me: err...nothing. what time are we going?

funny how things come back to you

anyway the real nuria looked nothing like the film one, blonde hair and lovely knockers though.

                      Paiktis,
"Vanilla Sky" is a remake of Spanish film "Abre Los Ojos".
"Abre los ojos" directed by Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar ("Tesis","The Others") and reminds me a little bit David Lynch's stuff.
Amenabar creates here a very strange and unique atmosphere-the viewer isn't sure what is reality and what is imagination. The acting is excellent and the ending is totally surprising. The film has also some striking visuals and eerie scenes.
Original cast: Eduardo Noriega, Penelope Cruz (Sofia), Chete Lera, Fele Martinez, Najwa Nimri.
Highly recommended for you paiktis. :-)

OK, I don't understand people's fascination with Penelope Cruz although I guess she was preferable to the other psychotic iceberg.
I don't understand ANYONE's fascination with that SOMETHING ABOUT MARY chick. Cruz is ok. But not a match to the hawtie Turkina lady I knew...

I'm not into gamine women. But I lurved Demi Moore circa ABOUT LAST NIGHT time. Before she became a money machine slut. She reminded me of a girl I knew in highschool who looked like that. Similar body brunette with lips that looked like they had lipstick even with none on...

I thought it was pretty good film. Original, sure. But there has been a clear trend of 'philosophical' type of movies, like Matrix etc. Descartes type of what is real stuff. But yeah, I enjoyed this movie.
