Kung Ho-Shang says, "The reason Heaven and Earth alone are eternal and immortal is because they are content and give without expecting a reward, unlike Man who never stops chasing profit and fighting over possessions."

this leads me to the conclusion that true love is quite rare. in my case, the way i see it is thus: i would give anything to make her happy. if she would be happier without me, then i will leave; if she would be happier with me, then i will stay. if she wanted a child and a home in the suburbs, i will do everything in my power, and then some, to provide her those things. i will give and give and give, never asking for anything in return, wanting only her happiness and asking for nothing other than that.
now, keep in mind that love must be reciprocal. she must also want nothing other than my happiness, and she must also be willing to do anything within her means to provide for that.

when two people ask for nothing and give everything to each other, when two people find nothing but happiness and joy in each other, when they are able to look beyond the human flaws and temporary problems of the present and accept each other completely without reservation, even when she's a complete and utter ***** in the morning before she gets her 2 cups of coffee, or you're a complete and inattentive pessimist ******* when it comes to things you think are stupid, idiotic, or hopelessly beyond repair, then you've got something.

but then again, love isn't exactly something one can have a set definition for. it changes with time for individuals, so...

But reflecting back, I don't think I was.

It can be hard to discern between infatuation (or puppy love) and real love.

Well I think it happens more often that you do. I'm just concerned that MRT144 has mistaken the first few months of multiple-times-a-day hard-core no-holds-barred sex for love.

Give it a month, mate.

But then again, why not dive right in. My folks got engaged after knowing each other for just over three weeks.
