I was in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts (twice) and the Civil Air Patrol.

I quit Boy Scouts twice. The first time I told my parents it was because I didn't like the troop, so a couple of years later I joined another troop. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I really just hated the outdoors and couldn't stand the constant interaction with people.

Both my brothers were in Scouts, one of whom became an Eagle Scout, my father was in Scouts, along with all of his brothers, so on and so forth.

At that young an age, I thought I would be ruining some horrible family tradition if I just said that the whole thing sucked.

Civil Air Patrol, on the other hand, was worse. It was just a bunch of military strictness and no flying, which is what I joined for. Suffice it to say, the military is not for me.

I never noticed the blatant homosexuality amongst the Boy Scouts. All I ever saw was blatant stupidity. Rocks in fire explode!

I was in boy scouts for one winter here with the local scouts. I can't remember what they were called, but I was fascinated because I got to carry a big knife. I had the biggest knife of all and the scout leader was po'd with me because he thought it was dangerous. I wasn't interested in the nature stuff so much (I was like 10), but we did some cool stuff in a camp..

It was so funny, because the guy with the small knife cut his finger, and I was told I'd be the one to put out someones eye with my blade. But I was good with it.. oh yeah... but then I never went again after the camp. I don't know why.. I just wasn't that interested, though I had some good times. I still have the scarf though. And the sword.. excuse me the knife .

Oh yeah I remember now. The leader hated me after we had a task to play with mud, you know make a sculpture or something. So I made a sculpture about him and his girlfriend getting down to it! He was so pissed with me, I wonder how he didn't ever slap me. I was a bastard.
Also because when we learned how to set fire properly, and it was raining too, so I used my mosquito prepellant, spray can.. with matches.. made a nice fire. I was always in trouble in there GOOD TIMES!

First, let me get this brand that says "property of MtG" - it'll only hurt a bit, unless you sit down in the next month or two.

I was a troop leader in my daughter's troop during her second year in GS, because all the other parents flaked out. To be a troop leader, you have to be a Girl Scout. Ergo...

they let guys be leaders of girl scout troops? that seems strange. That's just asking for sickos to molest girls.

And I wish our boy scout troop had girls. I might have stayed

                    camping with girls

Brownies? Are those Nazis? If so, then... I cannot say I was in any of those

Though I was in some kind of youth group like that when I was 10 or so. For a short time only, it sucked.

I hate group activities. Also left a footy club at 12. Talk about anti-social.
