It'll never happen, because parents would freak out about their kids being taught things they don't want them to learn (federalized curriculum). I, a New Englander, would fear MidWestern & Southern influence on the curriculum, and vise-versa.

Not what I said. If you have good reason to believe that it will prevent the murders of a hundred others then it makes sense. After all, if you don't believe that then you obviously believe that what makes murder wrong is you having to do it, rather than its effect on the victims. And that is patently absurd.

You're simply making up connections where none can logically exist. But I'm not gonna threadjack this any further. We can take this elsewhere, but even then I'm not gonna argue into eternity (which is why I still say we need moderated debates ).
