Well AS, I agree with a Republican, everything can happen .
I think this guy is right : if there are laws to punish gay bashing, they should be enforced. Creating more segregation than there is already is further going down the wrong road, and I'm really surprised that the gay wommunity (or rather, some organized gays who pretend to represent the gay community) is actually pushing this direction.

I am against Gay bashing, and I'm against intolerance towards gays. I think schools should be a place where you should learn how the society really is. I think this long guy thinks the same. Down with segregation !

Rather then segregating out the gays, I'd rather senf off to their own school the people in high school who make the lives of gays help. If you just want to go to school to interfere with other's learning, you should be expelled.

I hate segregation. I can remember hearing about a time when the left fought against segregation but now the stupid people have hijacked the left and turned it into the pro-segregation camp.

colleges could also eliminate women if they so wish

Well they can . There are some male-only colleges in the US. Not as many as female only, but they do exist.

Even those schools that allow both men and women still segregate them... I, mean, whats up with his/hers dormitories, room pairing, locker rooms, and showers...

Desegregation should be across the board

My high school had a helluva lot of gay and lesbian teachers, yet our headmaster was a militaristic, religious homophobe.

Can you guess which I was reffered to when there were problems regarding my sexuality in school?

Yes to further helping gay students and dealing with further co-operation and understanding with striaght students, but seperate schools seems a really bad idea...

Is this a public school or a private school getting public funding? I approve if its a private school, just to give the kids out there, who are feeling overwhelmed with the harrassment they receive, an option instead of being consigned to 4 years of pure hell.

By the way, I doubt anyone is prohibited from enrolling based on their sexuality. It probably just has a curriculum oriented towards homosexuality, like catholic schools are oriented towards catholicism while still accepting kids of different faiths.

huh? so while catholic schools got Religion class, gay schools will have homosexuality class? how to be a hair-dresser or something?

THEN I realized.............. well how damn hard is it to hide your sexuality? You really arent supposed to be "getting it on" in highschool during the school day anyway, so what is the need?

They(straight kids) shouldnt but they do, so should gay HS kid be ostracized for getting it on? They should have equal rights to be able to do something they shouldnt be doing.

Plus, I knew who ****ed who in my HS, even if I wasnt actively pursuing the gossips. (Thats how easily these kind of things circulate around in HS)

Anyways, this whole issue wouldnt arise if gay HS kids werent ostracized. Which is where the problem lies.
                          :-p

Well, then, if this is a public school, isn't it just as logical that schools should be able to exclude any homosexual student?

I don't know, what I do know is that I was called gay so many times in high school that I would go home thinking they knew something I didn't. I don't want to think about what that experience would have been like for someone who actually was gay. I can understand why someone might want to get an education away from all that.

not a good idea. I sense another 'seperate but equal' segregation deal could come of this, and we all know how that turns out
