    Those people are talented people who happen to be rappers as well. Sean Combs is an exceptional buisnessman, and a good rapper aswell. This definatly does not mean that all rappers are talented buissnessmen.

    But then again it's bullsh*t to say someone can't be intelligent, or a good buissnessman just because they are rappers.

      Herr Speer, show me a rapper that's got recognised talent as a sculptor, architect or painter - and I'll agree, they are renaissence material.
      Some cry `Allah O Akbar` in the street. And some carry Allah in their heart.

        a rich ****** is still a ******.

        and if gangsta rappers aren't the definitive ******, the ones that are given the racial slur to describe the fact that they make the whole race look bad by their stupid actions, then there aren't any ******s, niggah.

            come on. in all races / societies there ARE people that ARE the sterotype. thats HOW they're made.

            and if rappers don't play off it, i dont see who does.

              Well, you have a point. For example in Japan there is the schoolgirl; in Europe-descended America there is the fat worker-exploiting pig; in African-American society, the rapper.

                @Uber

                Successful Rappers are great buisnessmen, but I wouldn't call them Renaissance men.

                A Ren Man is suppose to be someone who is knowledgable and active in/of many fields of study and art. While a Rapper may know how to write a good beat, some can actually write some poetry, and some can actually market it, this does not make it enough. Mainly because marketing should be second nature to them anyway, since that is all they are really doing is selling an image, as Uber so delicatly put it

                It is the same with a professional athlete who developed his skills for scratch, sold his image to some team, and clothing line, and then went into acting or rapping... Would you call Dennis Rodman or Shaq a Ren Man? I know I wouldn't.

                  one might say they were intelligent in that they may be putting up an act to sell an image that they might not really have.

                  enimem comes to mind.
