At the time (age 6-8) I loved captain planet, though I could really not get some of the issues there...

But it does strike me as exceptionally sucky and silly brainwashing attempt. "remember kids, don't use plastic bags. bring your own recyclable paper bags."

And the power of heart, I think, allowed one to communicate to animals.

PS: doesn't captain planet (and captain america at that opportunity) have the wierdest super-hero outfit?
