  • Tiny African Nation delcares President "God"

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

State radio in the tiny west African state of Equatorial Guinea has hailed the nation's leader as "the country's God".

In a programme called Bidze-Nduan (Bury the fire) which deals with "peace, tranquillity and the order reigning in the country" the radio declared that President Teodoro Obiang Nguema was "in permanent contact with the Almighty".
    etc..etc..

Time to Break out the MOAB to test that theory.

"He can decide to kill without anyone calling him to account and without going to hell because it is God himself, with whom he is in permanent contact, and who gives him this strength," a presidential aide announced on the show.
That makes him like a ninja, who are mammals and totally flip out and kill people all the time without even thinking twice about it.

Hmm... it's going to be interesting when if he meets recognized religious leaders as to the protocol oberserved.

So, do you get to vote for your local God in equatorial Guinea, or is it a dictatorship?

Sorry, can't check the CIA website, my broswer is running like a snail.

Well, according to the article the Prez was re-elected with almost 100% popular vote....hmm.. that sounds vaguely familiar...

Hell, if god was running for office here, I think he'd get the same percentage, no matter what!

A new target for fundies, anyway. Gives them something else to aim at.

                  Holy ****ing **** that's scary.

I wouldn't want to be a citizen in Equatorial Guinea right now...

I never imagined God to have the eyes of a lizzard, but there we are.

Another fine, upstanding "man of the people" African politician.

Let's just get all the Eurowhiteys together, reinvade the continent, and fix things this time.

Seems to me that godhood is clearly a weapon of mass destruction. The country is so tiny that even a very weak nation could take it over.

Wouldn't God have perfect eyesight, thus He need not wear glasses?

Or was the whole thing about He sees everywhere just metaphorical?

                              Man, metaphorical things suck.
