So did I. They're in a milk bar at the beginning of the movie. I think it was the same in the book.

This site explains better than I can, and is well worth browsing, besides, especially if you have an interest in the (sub) culture of Great Britain and London.

In short, not dissimilar to a cafe, or as it's known in British slang, a 'caff'.

If you watch the films 'Up the Junction' or the 'Leather Boys' you'll get the idea, although many films set in 'Swinging London' feature a scene in a 'caff' or espresso bar (which some milk bars became).

At the Bramah's Tea and Coffee Museum on the South Bank in London there's a map detailing all the coffee bars and milk bars there were in Central London, from Soho to Fitzrovia, to Covent Garden and Strand.

Slowww's original version didn't get no response from me...

                      boris' version was hilarious though

                        sloww's version is tired.

                        boris's version is odd.

then again, i'm tired too, which could be why i'm not laughing.

slow's version was great. Pecka's Rudolph jokes were too die for.
