      I am thankful that all my past work and effort is paying off handsomely for when I start graduate school this fall.

      I am thankful for my family who try to accept me for who I am.

      I am thankful for the good friends I have in real life, whom I will miss after I move soon.
      A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

                            I came with in an inch of going to UCSD but I decided on UCSB instead. I grew up in San Diego so I knew I'd have ended up living with my parents if I'd have gone to UCSD. Besides one look at Santa Barbara and all the girls on the beach and I knew which school was for me.

                            UCSD is a good school with a nice campus but it's not very diverse and everyone commutes so there isn't the sense of community there is in other UC schools. Still, it's near the beach and La Jolla is nice.
