      Yep, that's Reno.

      JonhT and Co.:
How was Reno-Tahoe International? I've been there twice (to pick up a visiting friend) since 9-11 and it wasn't a mess either time. Just people milling about waiting for arriving passengers and a pair of short lines for outbound flyers.

The relatively short drive to Nashville and a Southwest flight are well worth the savings. Every since Airtran pulled out of Knoxville the air fares have been ridiculous.

JohnT is going to be bummed out.
Sitting in the airport, hopeful and expectant look on his face.

And I know Rah is playing 36 holes of golf today, so he won't be available either.

Ming: No problem. I got to check the thread this (well, Saturday) AM and saw your reply. It was REALLY short notice, and if I had any brains I would've posted this a couple of weeks ago - after all, the two layovers were known to me for over a month. Bad planning on my part.

Sava: I would've enjoyed meeting you ( ) I just didn't have it truly fixed in my mind that Napierville~Chicagoland. Otherwise I would've put your name in the title as well.

                    Provost: So?

TCO: Yeah, I don't drink, but that doesn't prevent me from paying for other peoples' drinks. Nor driving one's drunk ass home if necessary. (But not from O'Hare!)

DRoseDARs: The airport was nice, even though American Airlines screwed the pooch and didn't have assigned seats for us, even though we had confirmed tickets purchased 1.5 months in advance. My bags got physically searched, but as we arrived 2 hours prior to takeoff, that was no problem.

Sophie did very well in the plane(s), kept her frustrations inside and complained rather quietly (ie, she didn't shriek in total defiance). Fortunately she and Daddy fell asleep on flight 1 (the four hour flight to O'Hare) and she slept for 2+ hours. She woke up about 1:15 out, which was pretty damned sweet.

I brought out the DVD player on flight 2, which went very well - it was for 1:30, so it was much shorter.

PLATO: You're probably right. But if I fly I will likely not be able to see Apolytoners. And I like to drive and, sometimes, an extra day or two away from the wife and kid isn't the most horrible thing ever. I'm not one to play around, I'm just thankful for the peace and quiet and the ability to watch TV in silence. I'm just a simple man with simple needs. Y'all.

My stepdad usually flys Southwest Airlines. They don't even DO assigned seating...first come, first serve.

Good to hear Sophia was more-or-less an angel...of the sleeping variety.

*Shudders at the thought of going through O'Hare for ANY reason...*

Bah! Curse my being too busy to check the OT!

Ah well, if you swing by Charleston, IL, you might as well go through Urbana as well

JT, you are cool regardless of drinking. Maybe even more cool for not drinking but for putting up with and having fun with those of us who do.
