btw I should note that realistically I do not support reparations, but in theory- they seem almost reasonable.

But I want to run a little test here.

Imagine you are black. Yes imagine you are black and your ancestors were enslaved in recent history. It has only been 150 years since slaves were running around. This wasn't hundreds of years ago as some posters have said. Would you hold a grudge? would you want reparations?

That's all I ask, is a little empathy for the black man.

It's not stupid at all. Have you every wondered how to differentiate between a black person in African and a black person in America? African-Americans are Blacks, but Blacks are not necessarily African-Americans.

No. However, I have always wondered if a white person from South Africa could immigrate to the us and make use of Affirmative Action programs by legitimtaly claiming to be African-American.

I believe Powell is a moderate, but he chose to be a Republican anyway. I think it was a bad idea, but people have different priorities.
