Actually, I particularly like those marching scenes. Very communistic.

Sava, I do think you are underestimating the seriousness of the North Korean situation. They have NUKES for gods sake....Shouldn't people pay more attention, well, because of that?

I'm not under-estimating it, it is a serious situation that requires delicate diplomacy. But I'm not about to hide under the bed every time something like this happens.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Nor am I, mainly because targets are mainly Japanese and South Korean with major US cities coming next.
But like in a chess game, every move should be monitored VERY closely. When the armstice is violated....

NK will never have the full capability of nuking major US cities in the way you think. If there is so much a fart from a missile silo, I have full confidence that Dubya will make that entire peninsula glow in the dark before one even gets off the ground. That's the only good thing about having a cowboy in office.

No. He can't go to war with NK now because then North Korea (and this is confirmed, of course) would be able to nuke Tokyo, Seoul, etc etc....Not good for the US, and definately not good for Bush politically.

if a nuke is heading toward the US with a NK return address, i think any president could care less of the consequences... complete and utter retaliation against the enemy.

The Horse is right. No need for panic. But I would appreciate the perspective of some of our Korean posters on this issue.

As long as they aren't North Korean posters!

The piratical hegemonistic forces of the United States along with their lackies and imperialist stooges have created a great provocation against the peaceful and peace loving Korean people and their Dear Leader!

Apparently, the North Koreans are so paranoid about the internet that they run their official site out of Singapore.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

You misread, I meant a nuke headed towards Japan or South Korea.

two converging events disturb me in regards to peace on the peninsula:

                            1. the successful test of the Tae'Po Dong by Iran. If the Iranians can make it work, then the NK probably have 1 trans-Pacific missile(if it's the 3-stage), and will have more.

                            2. More bombs: Those wacky NKs keep extracting Plutonium, and they are said to be making smaller bombs so they can stick them on their rockets. Supposedly they have enough for 8 right now.

I hope Bush's SDI can handle eight. If they have eight ICBMs, they can threaten a big chunk of the West Coast.

I think many of you underestimate the power of the South Korean Military. This isn't the one of the 1950s. I could bring up exact weapon numbers, aircraft, naval and ground. It appears South Korea has better quality artillery pointed at Pyongyang.

If they have eight ICBMs, they can threaten a big chunk of the West Coast.
All the tracking/guiding systems in these weapons are of antiquated nature, and probably will end up in the ocean if fired.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)
