Also historic was when Ming was first appointed moderator of the OT, and there was a minor rebellion against that .

But yeah, I was born and raised in eastern Iowa -- the Dubuque area, actually.
Ahhh, good ol' Dubuque, where if you're not Catholic, you're...well...not. I don't recall any truly historic Poly events, save for the massive hype surrounding the release of Civ3, and the incredible 'thud' after the first couple of weeks...

They (I forget who, either Ming or Markos) started a thread saying something like "Blah blah blah, do not post in this thread or you will be banned," so everybody posted in it and got banned. Most of the bannings occurred on a Tuesday, hence the name "Black Saturday."

I believe 'Black Saturday' had to do with the banning of multiple members for the use of a forum that was supposedly disabled, but was actually still accessible by typing in the correct address in the address bar.

Black Saturday, I believe was banning members for posting in a hidden forum. Black Monday (or Tuesday ) was banning members for posting a thread saying "Don't Post Here".

The mass bannings all run together after awhile. We've gotta change the name of one of them to "Bloody Wednesday" or "Pantsless Friday" or something -- that should help prevent further confusion.
Agathon: Yes, especially when it could have all been prevented by just locking the damn thing.
