The only thing that'll top that for me is flying down under to visit that aussies, too bad none of them seem like golf fanatics.

Because it was a contest... Guess the DL... fully sanctioned by moderators as well .
Ok -- it meets the thread's qualifications.

But you don't win any prize.

        Did you win or lose?

In other words, were you the predator or the victim?

        ACK!

          I already did... I didn't get banned .

I trust this thread will turn into a procession of "1970" registered members to laugh patronisingly at everyone else.

I was once on the end of an IP ban as collateral damage.

Hey Mr Fun, I see you're in Iowa, I must have driven right by you on my way. Des Moines? Iowa City? Davenport? I loved that area on the Mississippi just east of Davenport. All these houses right on the river with boats lining the shore, real nice.

I am in East Moline in Illinois now -- boarding temporarily for the summer with a friend in a spare bedroom while I work until I move to Charleston, Illinois for graduate school.

But yeah, I was born and raised in eastern Iowa -- the Dubuque area, actually. That city has some beautiful bluff areas along the river. Holy Cross my hometown, is only 25 miles west of Dubuque.

But four years ago, I moved down to Davenport, Iowa and never regretted it.

I had a chance to meet an Apolytoner, and missed the opportunity.

My registration date says Dec 1969, and so does yours. Maybe because of my time zone.

Yup, I changed the time-zone to check. Anyone with GMT-x sees Dec 1969, anyone with GMT+x sees Jan 1970.

                            How sad.

Damn, Dubuque sounds familiar from my trip. Is that a bit north of Davenport? I think I went through Moline but I can't remember now. I came through on 70 (or was it 80?) and there was a fairly large city on the Illinois side of the river but I can't remember what it was called. I'll have to look at a map

oh, historic, right. My fixed title was a pretty cool moment.
